Jeremy Abbot won the short program at US Nationals scoring 90.23. He went for a cautious short landing all of his triples flip-toe combo, axel and lutz. Jeremy is trying to add the quad in his programs but preferred to go safe for the short. That strategy worked so far, he has an eight points lead thanks to his amazing skating quality.
Second after the short, Adam Rippon scored 82.94. He nailed the same jumps of Jeremy, but lost some points on the components.
And so did Armin Mahbanoozadeh in third with 80.66 points
